Dominatio Per Malum

We learn something new everyday

A new addition to my vocabulary: autochthonous

au·toch·tho·nous : Originating where found; indigenous

Sentence: Legislation towards an autochthonous legal system

What it actually means: Legislation towards a native legal system.

Shorter is often more succinct.

Which of course brings me to the real question: How exactly do you pronounce autochthonous???

Or, for that matter, autochthonal and autochthonic?
